Doroni Aerospace has raised a combined total of over USD$3.5 million from nearly 2,000 investors and conducted another successful test flight for its H1P1 eVTOL prototype.
The Miami-based eVTOL manufacturer said it had secured USD$2.4 million in funding from 1,042 investors in their second round of crowdfunding on StartEngine.com.
A few days prior, Doroni uploaded a video of the two-seater H1P1 making a short untethered hover test flight at its 13,000-square-foot facility in Pompano Beach. In total, the start-up has completed 23 test flights.
“We are just getting started and there is still plenty of work to be done. Our mission to make safe, efficient, and sustainable air travel accessible to the masses with the Doroni H1 eVTOL remains the same. We’ll keep pushing the boundaries of what’s possible,” said Doron Merdinger, CEO and Founder, Doroni Aerospace said.
Doroni’s Business Development Manager Yaakov Werdiger confirmed that changes are still being made to the H1P1 to ensure optimum safety. This includes a full redesign of the frame and minor adjustments to the wings and ducts.
“The current prototype resembles our final product… The frame is currently going through a full redesign to reflect the level of safety that our customers expect and deserve from us. We are also making minor changes to our wings and ducts to allow a better and more efficient aerodynamic design,” Werdiger said in an interview with FutureFlight.
Doroni is looking to obtain FAA certification for their two-seater eVTOL and launch commercially in the second half of 2024.
