EHang Partners with Aerospace Group in China’s Xi’an

China’s autonomous aerial vehicle (AAV) technology company EHang has entered into a strategic partnership with Xi’an Aerospace Investment Science and Technology Development Holdings Group.

The two sides will work on advanced air mobility (AAM) solutions and the application of AAM in different scenarios. The collaboration will focus on advocating autonomous aerial vehicles and building smart flight operating systems.

The deal was announced in a short LinkedIn post by EHang, a manufacturer of autonomous aerial vehicles (AAVs) and passenger AAVs, with the aim to advance AAM in Xi’an.

On the day of the signing ceremony, the company’s EH216 and EH216F, along with their other AAVs, conducted a successful Urban Air Mobility (UAM) flight demonstration.

“We are glad to announce that EHang has entered into a strategic partnership with Xi’an Aerospace Investment Science and Technology Development Holdings Group. On the day of the signing ceremony, EH216, EH216F and other AAVs completed a wonderful UAM flight demonstration,” the post on LinkedIn said.

In February, EHang’s EH216 completed a passenger-carrying demo flight along Tanoura Beach in Oita, Japan. This marked “the first passenger-carrying flight for an autonomous eVTOL aircraft in Japan”, the company announced in a press release.
