Eve Air Mobility has signed a Letter of Intent (LoI) with Brazilian advanced air mobility (AAM) start-up FlyBIS Aviation on the development of eVTOL operations in Brazil and South America.
FlyBIS, which has begun operations in the south of Brazil, will also purchase up to 40 of Eve’s eVTOL vehicles under the agreement, which it plans to use to expand operations to nearby Latin American countries.
“This new collaboration with FlyBIS will enable us to expand the future of air mobility to Southern areas of Brazil and other South American countries,” said Andre Stein, Co-CEO, Eve. “This region has several high-traffic tourist areas that will benefit from eVTOL operations, reinforcing our commitment to fostering the urban air mobility market in different regions around the world.”
“We have a strong team in FlyBIS working together with Eve’s outstanding workforce and second-to-none resources to develop and implement this project in the most financially efficient and sustainable way,” said Gustavo Zanettini, Co-Founder and CEO, FlyBIS, adding that the company is confident to change future urban air mobility for a “more accessible and cleaner experience.”
FlyBIS is backed by Brave Aviation, an aircraft fleet management and services company whose fleet includes the Embraer Phenom.
In a similar move to develop the AAM industry in Latin America, Skyports Infrastructure signed a memorandum of understanding with private airport operator Corporación América Airports to plan the development and deployment of vertiports in Latin America.
