EvFly, the air fleet management and operation company, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Al Shaheen Aviation, the Aviation Division of YAS Holding, to develop advanced air mobility (AAM) technologies in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
Along with accelerating the growth of AAM in the UAE, the two parties will also focus on nurturing domestic talent through the provision of training and apprenticeships.
Yannick Erbs, EvFly’s founder and CEO, said the MoU will play a pivotal role in establishing the company’s presence in the UAE.
“This MoU with Yas Aviation Division is great news for EVFLY as it will strengthen its position in the AAM industry and create jobs in this sector in the UAE,” he said.
Efgan Dengür, Division CEO, Aviation Division of YAS Holding, acknowledged that the deal will bring about numerous employment opportunities and boost the introduction of AAM in the Middle East.
“We are excited to join forces with EVFLY in this strategic partnership. Together, we will work towards accelerating the adoption of AAM and eVTOLs, fostering innovation, and nurturing local talent,” he said. “We believe this collaboration will play a vital role in transforming the way people move in urban areas and provide significant benefits to the UAE.
“This partnership marks an important milestone for both companies, and Al Shaheen Aviation looks forward to a successful and productive collaboration with EVFLY. By combining our expertise and shared vision, we are set to contribute to developments shaping the future of advanced air mobility in the region.”
The deal with YAS Holding comes just a month after EvFly signed a letter of intent for Volatus Infrastructure to be its exclusive eVTOL infrastructure and charging station provider. Earlier in April 2023, the Singapore-based company joined forces with German flight simulation developer F.A.S.T.-Group to leverage their technology for pilot training.
