Evia Orders 25 Electric Jets from Eviation

Evia Aero has signed a letter of intent to purchase all-electric commuter airplanes from Eviation, an electric aircraft developer, with the hope of establishing flights routes in Europe. The announcement, which was made at the National Business Aviation Association Business Aviation Convention & Exhibition 2022, will see Evia buy 25 jets, and comes after Eviation’s first successful flight test of its electric plane, dubbed Alice, on September 27.

Evia Aero, which is focused on developing a sustainable airline for the business travel market, intends to use the nine-passenger vehicle as its primary jet to bring travellers on point-to-point trips within Germany, Denmark, Belgium, Austria, and the Netherlands.

Eviation expects its Alice jets, which have a range of about 250nm, to enter service in 2027.

“Together with Eviation, a pioneer of electric flight, we will introduce a fleet of zero-emission aircraft that will transform the way we experience regional travel in Europe,” said Florian Kruse, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Evia Aero. “We are deeply committed to holistically transforming the aviation industry by implementing a complete cycle of local energy generation, storage, and flight operations.”
