PANTALA eVTOL Wins Design Award

Pantuo Aviation and studiokurbos, a German design agency, received an award at the iF DESIGN AWARD 2023 for the PANTALA Concept H eVTOL. 

Jointly developed by both companies, the electric aircraft triumphed in the Professional Concept category out of nearly 11,000 entries from 56 countries. 

Zhang Qiong, the founder and CEO of Pantuo, was delighted to have won the award and said the PANTALA Concept H would provide sustainable air travel to people in the future. 

“PANTALA Concept H is a disruptively innovative transportation tool that revolutionizes the way people travel. We envision future urban mobility to be more safe, intelligent, and sustainable,” Zhang said. “We are delighted that iF holds the common vision. With the industrial ecosystem’s support and the government’s involvement, we are determined to bring the future of mobility to life.”

The PANTALA Concept H has tilting ducted fans on its wings, allowing it to seamlessly take off and land in confined urban spaces. The uncommon design will also make it much quieter when in operation. 

Pantuo unveiled the electric aircraft in September 2021. Since then, the company has been building a half-scaled technology demonstrator known as the T1 and conducted the first flight in June 2022. 

The Shanghai-based firm is now developing a second-generation technology demonstrator, known as the T2. Ultimately, Pantuo aims to get its PANTALA Concept H electric aircraft certificated by the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC) by the end of 2027. 

In November 2022, Pantuo signed a strategic partnership with Porsche Consulting (Shanghai), which revolves around a plethora of business activities, including product design, future strategies, and international developments. That same month, Pantuo received an avionics system component from Aviage Systems, which promised to enhance the PANTALA Concept H’s overall performance.
