Urban-Air Port and Supernal Debut Vertiport

Urban-Air Port and Supernal have announced the launch of Air-One, the first functional advanced air mobility (AAM) vertiport.

The vertiport is open to the public in Coventry, UK.

The companies are working together to design infrastructure to support future AAM operations.

“The Air-One activation is an important step for the Advanced Air Mobility industry and demonstrates how eVTOLs can easily integrate with existing transportation networks to address local needs,” states Mike Whitaker, the chief commercial officer of Supernal.

Air-One will feature the S-A1, Supernal’s electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) vehicle, live drone demonstrations, and more.

According to Ricky Sandhu, founder and executive chairman of Urban-Air Port, Air-One will show how people can travel in the future, and how AAM can be integrated with different modes of transportation.

Urban-Air Port has recently partnered with Dassault Systèmes, who will help provide the digital architecture to support Urban-Air Port’s vertiports.

Supernal previously partnered with the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) to explore AAM as well as develop an eVTOL network.
