Volatus Infrastructure has partnered with Korean startup and electric vehicle producer PLANA for the development of vertiports, as well as the integration of electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) operations.
Volatus Infrastructure announced on February 27 that the two companies signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU). The two sides agreed to work together toward building eVTOL infrastructure for the formulation of advanced air mobility (AAM) ecosystem.
“The only way the eVTOL industry is going to succeed is through collaboration and working together for the greater good,” said Grant Fisk, Volatus Infrastructure Co-Founder, saying that PLANA shares Volatus’ philosophy of accessibility. “You know it’s going to be a successful partnership,” added Fisk.
“It is quite a meaningful moment for PLANA to sign an MoU with Volatus, which offers top-class eVTOL infrastructure, and to formulate an ecosystem together for accelerating the realization of advanced air mobility in our lives,” Braden J. Kim, CEO of PLANA.
PLANA was founded in 2021 and its long-range hybrid power aircraft can carry up to six passengers. The company plans to conduct its subscale eVTOL flight tests later in 2023.
Global Sky Media spoke with Braden J. Kim, Chief Executive Officer of PLANA previously on its market strategy for long-distance travel and the challenges that the company is facing before a full commercial entry.
