Wisk Partners with Queensland Council of Mayors to Bring AAM to Australia

Wisk Aero has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Council of Mayors South East Queensland to bring advanced air mobility (AAM) to Australia.

The two organizations will work to bring safe, sustainable and scalable autonomous air taxi services to South East Queensland.

South East Queensland was chosen as it has a variety of rural, seaside and urban landscapes, making it well suited to launching flight tests.

The company will also grow its business by adding Australia-based staff.

This is Wisk’s next step in introducing air taxis in the Asia-Pacific region.

“Our work has the potential to accelerate the introduction of emissions-free aviation, help reduce transport-driven carbon emissions, and realize the benefits of AAM for the Queensland state economy and the wellbeing of its citizens,” says Catherine MacGowan, Wisk’s Asia-Pacific Regional Director.

Wisk plans to stay in Queensland long-term and will collaborate with the government to launch green tourism in the city.

Wisk recently appointed Tyler Painter as its new Chief Financial Officer
