Ampaire Partners with Black & Veatch on Supporting Electrified Infrastructure at Airports

Ampaire will work together with Black & Veatch on making airports electric to support hybrid-electric aircraft.

The companies will identify and analyze ways to build infrastructure for electric air mobility at airports. They will also collaborate with early users based in the Americas, Europe, and Asia.

Under the memorandum of understanding (MoU) signed by the two parties, their mission is to create reliable and clean energy-powered charging. They also plan to launch a sustainable aviation fueling supply.

“Ampaire is committed to putting zero-emissions aircraft into widespread service by mid-decade. These hybrid-electric aircraft will benefit from the buildout of sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) and electric charging infrastructure, making zero emission possible for meaningful service range,” says Susan Ying, senior vice president of global partnerships for Ampaire.

The future will most likely see electrified air mobility continue to grow, given its environmental benefits, reduced fuel requirements, and maintenance costs.
