AE Industrial Partners (AEI), the private equity firm with a focus on aerospace, defence and specialty industrial markets, has acquired a majority interest in Yingling Aviation for an undisclosed fee.
Based in Kansas, Yingling Aviation provides MRO services including airframe, engine and avionics upgrades, as well as a 24/7 FBO located at Wichita’s Dwight D. Eisenhower National Airport. Yingling Aviation’s current facility at the airport is over 300,000 sq ft, with over 180 employees.
“We have known Yingling Aviation and its owners for several years and are excited to be partnering with them to continue to build this leading platform serving the needs of business aircraft owners and operators,” said Jon Nemo, Senior Partner, AEI. “This investment represents the beginning of our strategic vision of creating a unique, independent platform of scale providing best-in-class services within this growing market.”
Yingling Aviation’s Chairman & CEO, Lynn Nichols and President Andrew Nichols will remain as leaders and investors in the company.
AEI’s experience in the industry includes current investments in Global Jet Capital, the business aircraft financing company as well as Solairus Aviation, the technology-based aviation management company.
Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
