AVALON 2023 Show Kicks Off in Australia

The 2023 Australian International Airshow & Aerospace and Defence Exposition (AVALON 2023) kicked off at Avalon Airport in the City of Greater Geelong in Victoria, Australia on February 28.

A total of 798 participating exhibitor companies from more than 40 nations joined what is believed to be the Southern Hemisphere’s largest global business, defense and public event.

The scale of AVALON 2023 has been the largest ever in the biennial event’s 30-year history. The last airshow was held in 2019 which saw more than 38,000 attendees and nearly 700 companies.

Delegates from senior civil aviation, aerospace, space and defense industry, military and government decision-makers will also take part in major discussions on the development of Australia’s space industry, the rise of Advanced Air Mobility transport and developments in sustainable aviation.

Justin Giddings, CEO of AVALON 2023 organizer AMDA Foundation, said the event reflected a buoyant Australian industry.

“The success of AVALON 2023 reflects a buoyant industry that is looking to the future capability needs of the Australian Defence Force and civil aerospace and space customers. The industry is demonstrating that it can fulfill those needs from within Australia, sustaining a sovereign capability that contributes to both the security and national economy of all Australians,” he said.
