Bombardier is celebrating the grand opening of its newly expanded Singapore Service Centre. The facility is based at Seletar Aerospace Park, and currently boasts approximately 290,000 sq. ft. (27,000 m2) of space.
The expansion of the facility is key to Bombardier growing its worldwide customer service base. The service centre can accommodate Bombardier’s Learjet, Challenger, and Global aircraft, as well as its new Global 8000 business jet when it launches in 2025.
Additional features the facility includes are new customer offices and lounges, ground handling services, engineering, sales and customer support services, and more. Global aircraft operators can also lease BR710 engines from Rolls-Royce on-site, which helps to reduce downtime and costs.
“With this major expansion, the Singapore Service Centre will provide infinite benefits, including quicker aircraft turnarounds, greater convenience and peace of mind to Bombardier’s growing customer base in Asia,” says Jean-Christophe Gallagher, Bombardier’s Executive Vice President, Services and Support, and Corporate Strategy.
“Customers can also enjoy access to the complete range of OEM customer service and support at their doorstep,” he adds.
The facility also highlights Bombardier’s commitment to sustainability. The building features solar panels on the roof to reduce energy consumption and provides Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) for aircraft. The Singapore Service Centre has also achieved Singapore’s Green Mark Gold as well as the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) Silver LEED Green Building certifications.
The service centre currently has over 200 staff members, and Bombardier is in the process of adding more than 50 additional employees.
The company expects to support at least 2,000 business jet visits annually.
