Flexjet Launches European Private Helicopter Division

Flexjet has become the first private jet operator in Europe to launch an in-house, integrated helicopter division. The new division will initially focus on the United Kingdom and will operate a fleet of Sikorsky S-76 helicopters.

The launch of helicopter services in Europe follows Flexjet’s existing helicopter service in Florida and the north-eastern US, which was launched in June last year to provide a luxury point-to-point travel solution.

Helicopter services in Europe will be offered as both a standalone service, as well as an extension option to existing owners. Fractional owners of Flexjet’s ultra-long-range Gulfstream G650 aircraft will receive complementary helicopter transfers to and from their aircraft at airports in London or the US operating regions.

“No other private jet provider can offer access to an in-house helicopter fleet,” said Marine Eugène, European Managing Director, Flexjet. “Following the successful model already pioneered by Flexjet in the U.S., our new UK helicopter division defines us as the leader in combined fixed-wing operations and private urban mobility.”

Each of Flexjet’s Sikorsky S-76 helicopters can seat eight passengers and has a range of 300 nautical miles, allowing point-to-point connections within the UK and as far as Dublin or Paris. Alongside the S-76 fleet, Flexjet will offer on-demand helicopter charters using its operated and managed fleet of Augusta AW109 and AW169 helicopters, which were previously operated by Halo Aviation before the company was acquired by Directional Aviation – Flexjet’s parent company – in 2021.
