GateOne to Operate FBO in Wyoming

GateOne, the Fixed Base Operator (FBO) services provider, will take over as the operator of the FBO at Northeast Wyoming Regional Airport (KGCC) in the U.S. from July 1.

GateOne saw off competition from five other competitors in a Request For Proposal (RFP) process for the lone facility in Gillette, Wyoming. The FBO is the fourth in the company’s portfolio, with the other three locations being in Cedar City, Utah; San Antonio, Texas; and Chandler, Arizona.

The acquisition of the FBO comes after KGCC built a new USD$3.3 million general aviation terminal in 2022.

Spanning 5,500 square feet, the building offers an all-encompassing range of amenities, including pilot and passenger lounges, a flight planning area, a 12-seat conference room, and a crew rest facility. It will also provide aircraft maintenance and 29,772 square feet of hangar space.

“We are thrilled to help move the airport forward in this beautiful facility and honored to be its inaugural FBO,” Thomas Mathew, CEO of GateOne, said. “We plan to offer maintenance services for aircraft from single engines to turboprops and possibly jets.”

Mathew added that based on the demand generated, GateOne will assess if more hangars need to be built.

“We’ll also look at the needs of the local and transient communities, and see if we need to build more hangars to attract both customer segments,” he said while outlining further plans for a flight school and small aircraft charter operations.
