Luxaviation Adds to German Management Team

Luxaviation Group has added two members to its German management team, as it looks to strengthen its position in the country.

Joachim Krüger has joined the company as Vice President of Northern Europe and Managing Director of the German entities, whilst Paul van der Blom has joined as Director for Commercial Development of the Northern European region.

Krüger has more than 20 years of experience in business aviation, although his aviation career began right after high school graduation when he joined the German Air Force’s officer training program. He later co-founded FairJets AG, which was acquired by Luxaviation in 2011.

Van de Blom has more than 30 years of experience in both commercial and business aviation. He holds an aerospace engineering master’s degree and has previously worked in aircraft management and sales with both aircraft manufacturers and operators.

Luxaviation says that following strong results so far in 2022, it has identified Germany as a strategic development target, and is adding the two new hires as renowned experts in the country’s business aviation market.

“Luxaviation is well established in the German market. With Paul joining the team, we can rely on a deep knowledge of the local economy. This is in line with the local strategy deployed during 2022 to consolidate our footprint in Germany,” said Joachim Krüger, Managing Director, Luxaviation Germany. “The strengthening of our teams confirms our commitment to providing global support to our clients, and allows us to accentuate our development, particularly in Germany which represents a mature and dynamic aeronautical market and a source of opportunities.”

Separately the company says that it will focus on developing the excellence of its fixed-base operator (FBOs) in 2023.

This includes the company’s FBOs in Berlin and Munich, which Luxaviation say generate a decent amount of income for the group.

Part of the Berlin development includes refurbishing the customs and security areas at Brandenburg Airport, which are due to be brought up to new European standards in 2023.
