Signature Aviation Expands SAF Supply in California

Signature Aviation has increased the supply of Neste MY Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) in California, bringing the total of available SAF locations there to 10.

The newly-added airports that now provide SAF for private jets include San Diego International Airport, Santa Barbara Municipal Airport, Fresno Yosemite International Airport, and Palm Springs International Airport.

Signature’s offer of blending 30% neat SAF with 70% conventional jet fuel can reduce carbon emissions by 25%. The partnership between Signature and Neste will see 29 million gallons of blended SAF delivered, which can reduce 62,000 tons of emissions.

“SAF is recognized as the most effective way to reduce the greenhouse gas emissions from air travel and is an important solution to reach the business aviation industry’s pledge to achieve net-zero carbon emissions by 2050,” says Chris Cooper, President, Neste US. “Together, Signature and Neste are meeting the industry’s growing demand by increasing the volumes and locations where customers can have easy access to SAF to achieve their bold climate goals.”

Neste, the world’s largest producer of sustainable aviation fuel, will be able to manufacture 515 million gallons of SAF by the end of 2023 with its growing production capacity.
