Tradewind Aviation, the Connecticut-based charter operator and management company, has taken delivery of five Pilatus aircraft, including two new Pilatus PC-12 NGX turboprops.
The company has now received three new PC-12 NGXs since it finalized an order for 20 aircraft with the Swiss-based manufacturer in February 2022.
Tradewind Aviation’s fleet of PC-12s has grown to 24 aircraft, making them one of the largest turboprop aircraft operators globally. Tradewind Aviation expects to receive four PC-12 NGXs annually over the next five years and anticipates its fourth and fifth aircraft to be delivered in October and November this year, respectively. Some of the new aircraft will be based at the charter operator’s new 50,000 sq ft hangar at Hudson Valley Regional Airport, New York.
“The arrival of new aircraft is always an exciting development in the aviation industry, and particularly for us as we continue to grow our fleet of Pilatus PC-12 NGX turboprops and strengthen our partnership with a well-respected industry leader,” said Eric Zipkin, Co-Founder & President, Tradewind Aviation.
The PC-12 NGX is the newest variant of the PC-12 aircraft, and has a maximum range of 1,803 nm (3,339 km) when carrying four passengers, allowing passengers to fly between Hong Kong and Jakarta, or New York to Salt Lake City, non-stop.
The PC-12 NGX has a cabin length of 16ft 11in (5.16m), a cabin width of 5ft 0in (1.52m), and a height of 4ft 10in (1.47m), providing space for up to ten passengers in total.
