Bavarian Police Receives First Two H145s from Airbus

Airbus Helicopters has delivered the first two of eight H145 helicopters to the Bavarian Police in Germany.

The five-bladed helicopters will be used for pilot and crew training and will replace the current H135 fleet. The delivery of the first fully-equipped police helicopter is scheduled for mid-2024.

The H145, a twin-engine light utility helicopter, has a larger useful load than the H135 with an increase of 150 kg compared to the previous model. The fully-equipped H145s to be delivered feature a computer system with tactical police mission software, onboard cameras, searchlights, a hoist, customer-specified tactical radios and datalinks, and illuminated blade tips for night operations.

“We would like to thank Bavaria and its police force for their continued confidence in our helicopters,” said Stefan Thomé, Managing Director, Airbus Helicopters in Germany. “We are proud to equip the Bavarian police with the most advanced helicopters available for law enforcement missions, supporting them in keeping our communities safe.”

The H145 is widely used for public service and law enforcement missions, with over 200 in service at the moment. Overall, there are 1,600 helicopters from the H145 family currently operating around the world. The delivery of these helicopters is expected to enhance the capabilities of the Bavarian Police and improve their response to emergencies.
