DART To Develop Fire Attack System for the H145

DART Aerospace (DART) announced on March 23rd, 2022, that Japan Aerospace Corporation (JAC) and Kawasaki Heavy Industries (KHI) have both signed an agreement with DART to design and certify a new Fire Attack System for the H145 helicopter.

DART representative JAC requested to market a Fire Attack System for the H145 in Japan.

KHI will focus on assembling the helicopter, in addition to partnering with JAC to help test, certify and install the tank of the H145.

“This agreement not only creates opportunities for new markets that operate this high performing aircraft, but it also expands DART’s portfolio of products to another popular aircraft model,” states Steve Ghaleb, Vice President of Sales at DART Aerospace.

The H145 Fire Attack System is projected to gain certification from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) by the end of 2022, with the Japanese JCAB certification following after.

According to Asian Sky Media’s 2021 Asia-Pacific Civil Helicopter Fleet Report, Airbus, which manufactures the H145, remains the highest-ranking original equipment manufacturer (OEM) in the Asia-Pacific region. It has a total of 1,860 aircraft in its fleet, with 88 of them being H145s.

DART recently talked with Asian Sky Media about how its helicopter support equipment can meet growing firefighting needs.
