MD Helicopters Inks USD$17.4 Million Supplier Agreements

MD Helicopters has announced long-term supplier agreements worth a total of USD$17.4 million to bolster parts availability for its new and currently operating MDH aircraft.

MD Helicopters, the light helicopter manufacturer signed agreements with multiple suppliers, including L3Harris, Rohde & Schwarz, Kinetic Defense Manufacturing, Yankee Casting, Liquid Measurement Systems, and FN Herstal. The company is in talks with Moog, Dillon Precision, and others for further agreements.

The long-term relationship with Liquid Measurement Systems was established through a five-year agreement worth approximately USD$1.6 million. These agreements will ensure that MD Helicopters can provide the necessary parts to its customers, which will help to keep its aircraft operational.

“Our first priority as a company is ensuring we have the parts our customers need in stock and ready to send within hours of receiving an order,” said Mario Coracides, Vice President of Global Supply Chain, MD Helicopters. “As part of our company sustainability plan, we have been working these past seven months to reestablish trust with suppliers to build and maintain a strong parts supply.”

This production agreement came after LMS successfully completed a contract to design and qualify a new crash-resistant fuel gauging system for new deliveries of the MD 500 series. The light system made from carbon fiber can sustain corrosion, cracking, dents, and other damage.
