Ehang and CAAC Reach Consensus on Certification Basis and Program

EHang has announced an update on the current airworthiness certification of its EH216-S unmanned aerial vehicle, which has made a series of breakthroughs in airworthiness validation this year.

EHang says that it had reached a consensus with the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC) on the certification basis and plan for its two-seat EH216-S autonomous eVTOL, and has formulated 13 compliance requirements.

A total of eight EH216 series aircraft were ordered and delivered in the first quarter of 2022, which includes five deliveries to a tourism company affiliated with the Jishou City government in Hunan Province.

During its second-quarter earnings conference, EHang announced reported total revenues of approximately USD$2.2 million, up 152.5% from USD$0.9 million in the first quarter of 2022, which it says is due to sales and deliveries of its EH216. However, despite reporting an increase in revenue, EHang’s adjusted net loss widened in Q2 to USD$7.6 million, up from USD$6.4 million in the first quarter.
