GlobeAir to Purchase 12 eVTOLs from Lilium

GlobeAir, a Europe-based private jet charter company, has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Lilium to purchase 12 electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) aircraft.

The MoU between GlobeAir and the maker of the world’s first eVTOL marks the beginning of a mutually beneficial partnership between the two companies.

The MoU also points to wider efforts by GlobeAir to champion sustainable travel initiatives through the use of eVTOLs such as Lilium Jets. Each Lilium Jet has a target range of 280 kilometers and can be used to transport either passengers and goods without emitting any operating emissions.

GlobeAir aims to first roll out eVTOL operations in phases, with the first phase covering Northern Italy and the French Riviera.

“We are proud to be partnering with Lilium as they are changing how we think about aviation and are working to revolutionize how people travel,” said Bernhard Fragner, Chief Executive Officer of GlobeAir. “Technological breakthroughs, a forward-thinking mindset and a drive to deliver quality time that fits customer expectations have propelled Lilium to the forefront of next-generation air travel.”

Sebastien Borel, Senior Vice President, Commercial, Lilium said: “We are thrilled to partner with one of the leading European providers in on-demand air mobility, GlobeAir. The French Riviera and Italy are key markets, and we are confident that our shared commitment to innovation and partnership will result in a premium customer experience.”

Companies such as Honeywell, Denso and Aernnova have been confirmed as suppliers to support the development of Lilium’s electric motors and mounting propulsion systems, while Customcells and Zenlabs will be responsible for producing Lilium’s battery cells.

GlobeAir is Europe’s leading and award-winning private jet charter company, and offers on-demand charter services to over 900 airports.
