Klaus Roewe to Join Lilium as New CEO

Lilium has appointed Klaus Roewe as its new CEO. He will be joining the company on August 1st, 2022.

Daniel Wiegand, Lilium’s co-Founder and current CEO, will continue as Lilium’s Chief Engineer for Innovation and Future Programs. He will also stay as a Board Director.

This news comes as Lilium plans to speed up its next step of product delivery and business growth.

“We believe adding Klaus as CEO will give us unparalleled executional leadership to complement Lilium’s innovative DNA as we continue the development of the Lilium Jet and advance towards Type Certification and scale production – Klaus has a breadth of operational experience that is very rare in our industry,” states Tom Enders, Lilium’s Chairman.

Roewe previously worked at Airbus and led its A320 and A320neo programs.

The new role will be effective upon approval at Lilium’s 2022 Annual General Meeting of Shareholders.

Lilium recently obtained a milestone main wing transition

for its demonstrator aircraft.
