LCI and SMFL Deliver Two Leonardo AW169s to Alidaunia

The joint venture between LCI and Sumitomo Mitsui Finance and Leasing Company (SMFL) delivered two new Leonardo AW169 helicopters to Italian operator Alidaunia.

The helicopters will be based in Naples and Salerno. Alidaunia will use them to deliver Emergency Medical Services (EMS) to Italy’s Campania region.

“Alidaunia is a highly experienced provider of helicopter services, and LCI is proud to be supporting their growing emergency medical services operation. With over half of our fleet deployed on mission-critical operations, we have the technical and operational experience to help them deliver this vital service for the people of Campania,” says Crispin Maunder, Executive Chairman of LCI.

Alidaunia chose to partner with LCI as LCI has previous experience supporting emergency medical services operations.

The joint venture’s portfolio has a total of 38 aircraft, with a value of over US$420 million.

Currently, LCI has a fleet of over 140 helicopters and fixed-wing aircraft. It also has an additional 125 units on order.

LCI previously ordered up to 125 electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) vehicles from BETA Technologies.
