Sojitz Invests in U.S.-based BETA Technologies

Japan’s Sojitz Corporation (Sojitz) has invested an undisclosed sum into US-based BETA Technologies.

As part of the investment, the two companies will work together to establish and develop the advanced air mobility (AAM) market in Japan.

BETA unveiled its eVTOL design in June 2020. Named the Alia-250, the eVTOL can carry up six passengers or be configured as a freighter.

The injection of capital from Sojitz comes six months after BETA announced the closing of a new $375 million round of financing led by TPG Rise Climate.
