On July 21, a Cirrus SR20 aircraft numbered B-008Q landed safely at Zhuhai Jinwan Airport, marking the successful completion of the production and test flight of China Aviation Industry General Aircraft’s 100th China-made Cirrus SR20 aircraft. Since the first aircraft was delivered the series has completed 525.6 flight hours and 622 cycles.

The SR2X series is a single-engine light piston private jet with 4-5-seats, which is unusual in piston aircraft. The fuselage is made of composite material, and includes a full parachute system.

Currently, 8,500 Cirrus SR2X aircraft have been delivered in more than 60 countries/regions around the world, and have flown for more than 11 million flight hours. After obtaining the production license of Cirrus SR2X, China Aviation Industry General Aircraft has won 108 sales orders for Cirrus SR2X. The 100th aircraft is the 12th of the 20 additional orders placed by Beidahuang General Aviation The remaining eight aircraft are currently in production.

According to data provided by Asian Sky Group, as of June 2021, 33 general aviation aircraft manufacturers in China have obtained the China Production Certificate (PC), of which the number of independently developed aircraft manufacturers accounted for 58%, and the proportion of directly introduced or acquired manufacturers reached 42%. Although China’s general aviation aircraft manufacturing industry started late, the market potential is huge, and Chinese aircraft manufacturers will explore their own development path in the future.
