Lilium and Helity to Bring eVTOLs to Southern Spain

Lilium has partnered with Helity Copter Airlines to launch an electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) network in Andalusia, Spain.

The parties made the announcement during the Farnborough Air Show.

Helity will further purchase five Lilium Jets.

“With its zero emission and low noise profile, the Lilium Jet is a great addition to our existing helicopter fleet. Thanks to the large and spacious cabin, the aircraft is very well-suited to address the premium and business traffic in the region,” says Antonio Barranco, CEO and owner of Helity.

According to Daniel Wiegand, Lilium’s CEO, Southern Spain attracts high demand for premium tourism. Combined with Helity’s experience with operating helicopters, “…we have ideal conditions for the development of a sustainable air mobility network in the region.”

Lilium is currently running flight tests using its 5th generation technology demonstrator at the ATLAS Flight Test Center in Villacarrillo, Spain.

Lilium recently collaborated with ASL Group to develop an AAM network in Benelux.
